This is a no-brainer, but it's still worth mentioning! Some of us may have forgotten that this majestic building is the ultimate spot to do your last minute essays. With an indefinite source of reference, free wi-fi, seats, power socket, and air conditioner, the NLB is like a natural student magnet.

Just be ready to fight for spots during the major exam periods! Some dedicated students will be there before 9AM to chope the best seats. So if you're a sleepy head, be prepared to sit on the floor (yes, it's carpeted).

SINGAPORE MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY

Don't think that all the groups of youngsters studying there are from SMU. They might be students of Lasalle, NAFA, or Kaplan in disguise!

The benches around the prestigious uni are the gems for students all over Bras Basah, Dhoby Ghaut, and Bugis area. Although you need to make friends with the SMU students to get the wi-fi password, it's still one of the best spots around town to study without any disturbance. Our favorite spot ever. It's 24-hours, free wi-fi, and nobody really cares if you sit on the floor with your books and laptop on the seats. Some tourists might find it amusing or absurd, but power socket and assignment deadlines are more important than a few weird looks, anyway!

In no particular order, they are:
1. An associate degree in criminal justice will help you get an entry level job in the profession. While it is not an absolute necessity that you get this degree, there is no doubt that it will give you a leg up on your competition.
Let's say you are interested in joining the police department in your town. Who do you think will be given preference in the hiring process, a high school graduate or somebody with an associate degree in criminal justice? I think there can be no doubt that somebody who made the commitment to study criminal justice will most likely get hired over the high school graduate.
Why?
The reason is obvious. While both candidates will go through the police academy training, the one with the associate degree is better equipped to succeed in such training. I can hear you say but the bachelor degree holder will make more money than the person with an associate degree. This is indeed true. But, an associate degree is perfect for those that do not have 4 years before they can start earning a pay. And as I said above, it can get you in the door of a criminal justice career faster than a high school diploma. It is a good degree to start a career.

· Horsemanship – This course is designed to teach natural horsemanship to students of any skill level and riding discipline. Students will learn to effectively communicate with the horses and to become their natural partner and leader. During this course, students will learn the proper way to safely handle, saddle, mount, and ride a horse.

· Business Aspects of Raising Horses – This course is designed to teach students the fundamentals of business relating to the raising of horses. Some of the ideas and theories that are taught in this class include production, marketing, accounting, finance, and law and ethics

· Equitation – There are three levels of equitation classes that a student can choose from depending on their prior riding experiences and current skill level. The beginning Equitation class will teach students natural horsemanship along with how to saddle, mount, riding skills, and how to communicate with the horse. There is also an intermediate equitation class that is designed to teach advanced natural horsemanship skills to students who have already completed the beginning equitation class. There is also an advanced equitation class that is available to experienced students in western equitation. This class gives students very advanced training skills to help them train better horses. Students are required to have their own horse for this class.

· English Equitation – This class is designed to teach students with no prior riding experience the fundamentals of English riding. Student will have hands on experiences in grooming, saddling, bridling, and mounting. For the more advanced rider, Intermediate English Equitation is also offered. This class is for students who already have a basic knowledge of English equitation. This class will place a great amount of emphasis on riding positions, balance, control and figure eights at the trot. There is also an advanced course that emphasizes riding in a show ring.
